ASTM A36 is a common structural steel grade specified within the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards. This mild, low carbon steel is easily flame cut, drilled, formed, welded and machined. A36 is the most popular grade of hot-rolled mild steel plate. Mill test reports (MTRs) are available upon request with any order.
CSA-G420.21 44W/300W
Our inventory:
Thicknesses of 3/16” through 10”
Stock sizes of:
96” x 288”
96” x 480”
120” x 480”
Custom sizes available
Minimum yield strength of 44,000 psi
Minimum tensile strength of 70,000 to 90,000 psi
44W/300W is another mild steel plate grade specified within G40.21 of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Most commonly referred to as 44W, or its metric equivalent 300W, this grade is commonly utilized in general fabrication and construction. It is easily flame cut, drilled, formed, welded and machined. Mill test reports (MTRs) are available upon request with any order.
ASTM A572-50
Our inventory:
Thicknesses of 3/16” through 10”
Stock sizes of:
96” x 288”
96” x 480”
120” x 480”
Custom sizes available
Minimum yield strength of 50,000 psi
Minimum tensile strength of 65,000 psi
This high-strength, low-alloy steel is typically used in building construction, industrial machinery and automobile parts. As a stronger option to mild steel, it provides a bigger payload capacity, which increases the variety of applications it can be used in. Mill test reports (MTRs) are available upon request with any order.
CSA-G420.21 50WT/350WT CAT 4
Our inventory:
Thicknesses of 1/4” through 10”
Stock sizes of:
96” x 288”
96” x 480”
Custom sizes available
Minimum yield strength of 50,000 psi
Minimum tensile strength of 65,000 psi
50WT/350WT is a specialized grade for environments with extremely low temperatures. With strong Charpy V-Notch testing results (min average of 27J absorbed energy @ -50°F), this steel grade is designed for durability and toughness in cold climates. As a stronger option to mild steel, it provides a bigger payload capacity, which increases the types of applications it can be used in. Mill test reports (MTRs) are available upon request with any order.
